Visiting Monticello and Charlottesville, Virginia
compiled by Donald Burger, Attorney at Law

First, it is not easy to get reservations for motels in Charlottesville. Call early.

Second, the wait to visit Monticello can easily be over two hours, even in off seasons. The trick is to show up before 10 am. After that, long lines are usual even during the week.

Third, the Jefferson Visitors Center is worth a visit, if you are a fan of Jefferson.

Fourth, The Jefferson Vineyard, is just a mile or so from Monticello and is also worth a visit.
