Slip Knot
(Last revised August 22, 2023)

1. Make a bight at the working end of a rope, with the working end on the right as you are looking at the rope and the standing end on the left.

2. Twist your right wrist clockwise, taking the working end of a bight and bring it OVER the standing end, forming a loop, with the working end going toward the standing end.

2. Using your right hand, reach through the loop and grab the standing end and pull the grabbed part of the standing end upward through the loop.

3. You now have a slip knot. It looks like and overhand knot on the top, with the rope forming the standing end running parallel to the working end.

4. If you pull down on the working end, the knot will slip undone.
