This is the CD by Secret Garden to start with. The album came out in 1995. I have listened to it hundreds of times. It is hard to describe except to say that Secret Garden is bewitching. This album gets my very highest recommendation. If you like Celtic music, please give it a try.
White Stones, by Secret Garden. (Phillips)
This is the second CD from Secret Garden. I usually play Songs from a Secret Garden and White Stones one after the other. Hard to say which one I like better. Suffice it to say that both are great. If you like their first album, you will like their second one too.
Light from a Distant Shore, by Hollie Smith. (Etherean Music)
I have listed this CD under Female Vocalists also, because Hollie Smith is one of my favorites. She is from New Zealand, and she was only sixteen when she made this album! But this is one of my favorite albums. Her voice has a unique quality that is hard to put a finger on. There is no way you would fix her as a teenager from her voice. The "liner notes" on the CD include the words to the songs. And the songs are mostly written by Steve McDonald, (Sons of Somerled) who even joins her in a couple of them. Try this CD and I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
